Brazilian jiu-jitsu: much better to be two to roll!

Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a couple Art of BJJ

One will agree that Brazilian jiu-jitsu is highly addictive! Many people say that it’s more than a sport: it’s a lifestyle. So what about sharing your passion with your partner on and outside the mat?

Here are 11 things which change your everyday life when you do Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a couple:

1) No reproach when you spend your evenings at training. He/she trains at the same time.

2) Having a drink with the guys after training is not a problem. We both go out!

3) Instead of pizza & soccer evenings: breakfast before going to work (at 7 am) while watching the Abu Dhabi World Pro.

4) At the restaurant, in a bar or in front the TV, we talk about BJJ (latest techniques, BJJ news or philosophy). Let’s say we speak the same language!

5) The gifts we offered each other during the last 6 months: gis, rashguards and no-gi shorts (how romantic, isn’t it?!).

6) Gis invade our home and there are no complaints about that!

7) You don’t battle for space in the closet for your handbags only but also for gis and no-gi gear.

8) As for furniture, we are hesitant between purchasing a new couch or mats to train at home.

9) We try to train during each vacation and gis always are in our bags. BJJ is a good mean to meet nice people and discover local culture.

10) He understands why I often look like a Dalmatian (women will understand).

11) He knows I can beat him up 😉
